Analysis of in-situ data and altimetric observations, as well as outputs from 2 different numerical ocean circulation models (ROMS and HYCOM), have been used to investigate the mesoscale eddy properties in the Mozambique Channel. ROMS was forced by climatology data and run at 1 5 of spatial resolution, while HYCOM used an interannual forcing, and run at 1 10 grid resolution.
