A survey of non-commercial whitewater recreationists on the Rogue River wa s. administered in 1984 to gather information on users' characteristics, perceptions, and values . This information was compared to results from a 1977 study in a longitudinal analysis . Non-commercial whitewater use increased from 8,370 in 1977 to 10,388 in 1984 .
