Economic thermodynamics

  title={Economic thermodynamics},
  author={S. Rashkovskiy},
A thermodynamic approach to the description of economic systems and processes is developed. It is shown that there is a deep analogy between the parameters of thermodynamic and economic systems (markets); so each thermodynamic parameter can be associated with a certain economic parameter or indicator. The economic meaning of such primordially thermodynamic concepts as internal energy and temperature has been established. It is shown that many economic laws, which in economic theory are a… Expand

Statistical mechanics approach to the probability distribution of money
This Chapter reviews statistical models for the probability distribution of money developed in the econophysics literature since the late 1990s. In these models, economic transactions are modeled asExpand
Thermodynamic-like Approach to Complexity of the Financial Market (in the Light of the Present Financial Crises)
We consider dynamics of financial markets as dynamics of expectations of its agents and discuss such a dynamics from the point of view of phenomenological thermodynamics.We describe a financialExpand

Classical thermodynamics and economic general equilibrium theory
Abstract A long history of analogy making between neoclassical economics and physical thermodynamics has unfortunately served to obscure two important relations between the two fields: theirExpand
Equilibrium econophysics: A unified formalism for neoclassical economics and equilibrium thermodynamics
We develop a unified conceptual and mathematical structure for equilibrium econophysics, i.e., the use of concepts and tools of equilibrium thermodynamics in neoclassical microeconomics and viceExpand
