The bryophytic vegetation associated with Platanus orientalis trees were studied and compared with other important tree species of Nainital. In total 27 mosses and liverworts belonging to 14 families with three morphological groups formed the principle component of Platanus orientalis tree bark. Based on IVI (Important Value Index), Regmatodon orthostegius together with Brachymenium capitulatum formed the pioneer community, while Herpetineuron toccoae formed the climax community on the Platanus…

EPIPHYTIC BRYOPHYTE COMMUNITIES AND SUCCESSION ON PLATANUS ORIENTALIS TREES IN KADINCIK VALLEY (MERSIN/TURKEY)
In this study, epiphytic bryophytes of old-growth Platanus orientalis gallery forest in Kadıncık Valley (Mersin/Turkey) were studied. In total thirthy-three epiphytic bryophyte species were found (29
The abundance of epiphytic liverworts on the bark of Cryptomeria japonica in relation to different physical and biochemical attributes, found in Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary, Darjeeling, Eastern Himalaya
TLDR
To sustain the occurrence of epiphytic liverworts in ecosystems, forest management should ensure the presence of old trees, so it is important to maintain tree cover, shrub layer, and tree density.
Successional trends of some epiphytic bryophytes in Mediterranean Basin
Bryophytes are pioneer plants of different substrate types such as soil, rock and tree. Colonisation of epiphytic bryophytes on tree trunk is mainly determined by ecological factors of environment.

TLDR
A survey of bryophyte diversity in district Mokokchung (Nagaland) has brought to light an unexpectedly rich brysophyte flora, including several interesting species to Nagaland, which is luxuriantly covered by epiphytic b Bryophytes with wide range of diversity.

Host specificity of epiphytic lichens and bryophytes: a comparison of the Adirondack Mountains (New York) and the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains (North Carolina)
TLDR
Comparison of species composition and ordinations using quantitative frequency and cover measurements for the five major tree species showed that very few species were host specific, but that most communities of lichens, of bryophytes, and of both combined, were specific to particular tree species.
Host Specificity of Epiphytic Bryophytes Near
TLDR
Fifty-four species of mosses and eighteen species of liverworts were present on the bases of 120 trees belonging to six host species in a cove forest and the ordering of epiphytic communities was correlated with a gradient of decreasing bark pH and with the water absorption capacities of the barks.
Epiphytic bryophytes in harsh environments: the Juniperus thurifera forests
TLDR
Epiphytic bryophyte communities on Juniperus thurifera were highly homogeneous, although they can be arranged into different groups in response to environmental conditions.
Diversity patterns and biomass of epiphytic bryophytes and lichens along an altitudinal gradient in the northern Andes
TLDR
Ordination analysis revealed that altitude as a complex ecological factor explained most of the variation in the data, and species-area curves indicated that sampling at each investigated site (altitude) was adequate within the restrictions imposed by the sampling method.

Epiphytic succession on tree trunks in a mixed oak-cedar forest, Kumaun Himalaya
TLDR
The epiphytes present at about breast height on trunks of different size were studied for three major tree species in a seasonally wet forest at 2050 m altitude in the Kumaun Himalaya and indicated a succession in the type of epipHYtic cover from young trunks to older trunks.
Epiphytes and Epiliths
Epilithic or saxicolous bryophytes may be defined as those growing directly on the surface of rock, and in this chapter do not include aquatic species; epiphytic or corticolous species are those
