1. An ecological survey was made of the vegetation of the region between the 111th and the 112th meridians west of Greenwich and the 38th and 39th parallels north of the equator. It lies northeast of Bryce Canyon and northwest of the Henry Mts. 2. The vegetation in this region has been little disturbed except to a small extent by lumbering and to a somewhat greater extent by grazing. 3. Studies were made from the rock desert regions in the eastern part of this quadrat up to the summits of the… Expand
Aspen forests of the Wind River Mountains, Wyoming

Aspen forests in the central Rocky Mountain Region are recognized as important parts of the forest mosaic since they provide forage and cover for domestic as well as wild herbivores and serve as agents of soil and water conservation in the rugged terrain. Expand
Middle- and late-Wisconsin paleobotanic and paleoclimatic records from the southern Colorado Plateau, USA
The Colorado Plateau is a distinct physiographic province in western North America, which presently straddles the transition between summer-wet and summer-dry climatic regimes to the south andExpand
Presettlement vegetation of part of northwestern Moffat County, Colorado, described from remnants
—A general botanical inventory of a part of northwestern Moffat County, Colorado, resulted in the location of"remnants" ofthe presettlement vegetation spectrum that are largely unaltered by grazing,Expand
Holocene vegetation and fire reconstructions from the Aquarius Plateau, Utah, USA
Micropaleontological assemblages from two lakes located on the Aquarius Plateau in southern Utah were investigated to evaluate changes in vegetation, fire disturbance, and paleoclimate over the lastExpand
Late Wisconsin and Holocene Subalpine Forests of the Markagunt Plateau of Utah, Southwestern Colorado Plateau, U.S.A.
The vegetation and climatic history of subalpine forests on the Colorado Plateau is documented from Lowder Creek Bog and Alpine Pond on the Markagunt Plateau. Pollen and macrofossil data demonstrateExpand
Distribution of the native trees of Utah
Although botanists have been actively collecting in Utah for well over a century, the distribution of many plants are as yet imperfectly known. This is, in part, due to the scattered nature of UtahExpand
Ecology of Aspen in Gunnison County, Colorado
TLDR
Aspen appears to be successional to, spruce-fir in the present study area, although in local sites that may be inaccessible to a spruce -fir seed source the present mosaic pattern of aspen groves within fescue grassland or sagebrush may persist. Expand
