The paper discusses the emergence of early extragrammatical operations (such as reduplications, back-formations, truncations, surface analogies, rhyming, blends) in the speech of a Russian boy, whose dialogues with his mother were tape-recorded and transcribed for 8 months from the age of 1;4 up to the age of 2;0.
