  • Abstract. The crop coefficient (K c ) method is the most widely used method for computing crop evapotranspiration (ET c ) and relies on selecting a representative K c value for a specific production system, soil, and climate. Literature-based (e.g., FAO-56) K c values, used in the absence of local K c , can lead to erroneous ET c estimates.
