  • Thermoset prepregs are continuous fibers pre-impregnated with a resin system. The manufacturing of the semi-finished product is very complex, time and energy intense. Furthermore the material needs to be stored and transported in a freezer at -18° C to avoid further reaction of the pre-cured resin system. Due to long cycle times and the high costs the prepreg technology is only used in small automotive series, prototyping of new components, aerospace industry or motor sports.
