The aqueous leaf extract of Moringa oleifera was evaluated for its ameliorative effect in the regulation of thyroidism in rat model. Male albino rats of 120-150 g were treated orally with doses of 500mg/kg body weight (b.w.) and 250 mg/ kg b.w. of aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera leaf. Results show that T3 and T4 were increased and TSH was decreased significantly (p>0.05) at high doses compared to those in the control group. Also, the extract significantly reduced (p<0.05) total cholesterol…

The Effect of Moringa oleifera Leaves Powder on Some Hormones to Prevent the Development of Experimental Hypothyroidism in Rabbits

The results showed positive effects as a significant decrease in Visfatin, Resistin and Tumor necrosis Factor-α (TNF-α), with increase in level of T 4 and Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) in rabbit’s that dealed with Moringa leaves powder, while the results tend in rabbits that given carbimazole with Moreda near with normal concentration.

Oral administration of MOLEt showed significant reduction in blood glucose and HbA1c levels and an elevation in serum insulin and hepatic glycogen levels and the extract treatment also reduced TBARS levels and improved the levels of antioxidant markers in the pancreas.

Effect of Soybean, Virgin Coconut and Moringa oleifera Seed Oils on the Propylthiouracil Induced Hypothyroidism in Rats

This study investigated the possible effect of soybean, virgin coconut and Moringa oleifera seed oils for 8 weeks on Propylthiouracil (PTU) induced hypothyroidism in rats. Thirty five male albino

Experimental hypothyroidism in adult male rats: the effects of Artemisia dracunculus aqueous extract on serum thyroid hormones, lipid profile, leptin, adiponectin, and antioxidant factors

The tarragon aqueous extract could improve thyroid hormones profile in hypothyroidism and could be used as co-treatment for hyp Timothyroidism, but further studies are needed to confirm these data.

Anti-hypothyroid potential of Bauhinia variegate and Commiphora mukul extracts in albino wistar rats: A histopathological investigation

The present strategies used for the management of hypothyroid conditions are associated with various side effects. To overcome this, ethanolic extracts of Bauhinia variegate and Commiphora mukul gum

The communication deals with the antioxidant activity of aqueous and methanolic extracts of Tinospora cordifolia (Thunb.) stem, along with the phytochemical, pharmacological and nutritive properties.

IMPACT OF Pleurotus tuber-regium (Rumph. ex Fr.) EXTRACT-LOADED NANOPARTICLES ON THYROID PROFILE OF RATS

Pleurous tuber-regium extract loaded silver nanoparticles are non toxic and can be used in drug delivery as well as in the formulation of drugs used in hypothyroidism.

Efficacy and safety of Barg-e-Sahajna (Moringa olifera Lam.) in primary hypothyroidism

Improvements in thyroid profiles (TSH, T3 and T4) after consuming ‘Barg-e-Sahajna’ show that the test drug is effective in primary hypothyroidism and the relief was considerable.

Bioactive compounds, associated health benefits and safety considerations of Moringa oleifera L.: an updated review

The literature reflects that Moringa contains all necessary macro, micro-nutrients and bioactive compounds and scientific studies illustrate that M. oleifera and its bioactive constituents could play a vital role in the prevention of several chronic and degenerative diseases associated with oxidation stress.

Assessment of endocrine response of Inula racemosa in relation to glucose homeostasis in rats.

It appears that hypoglycemic response of I. racemosa is not due to enhanced secretion/synthesis of insulin; the action may be at the peripheral level by potentiating the insulin sensitivity.

PHYTOCHEMICAL SCREENING AND ANTIOXIDANT POTENCY OF ADHATODA VASICA AND VITEX NEGUNDO

The leaf samples of Adhatoda vasica and Vitex negundo were subjected to phytochemical analysis. Both the plants contained antioxidant phytochemicals such as alkaloids, tannin, saponins, phenolics and

SCREENING OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF CRUDE LEAF EXTRACTS OF CASSIA TORA ON UTI PATHOGENS

This study indicates that the leaves of C. tora can be used as a source for new broad spectrum oral drug and antibacterial ability as the extracts displayed activity against the pathogens associated with UTI.

Thyroid hormone action on intermediary metabolism

Thyroid hormones per se have only a minor influence on plasma triglyceride (TG) levels, but they induce an acceleration of TG turnover and chylomicron clearance rate, which contributes to the observed LDL cholesterolaemia in obese hypothyroid patients.
