SUMMARY: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of fluoride on pancreatic digestive enzyme activities and ultrastructure in young pigs. Three groups of crossbred barrows were exposed to 100, 250, and 400 mg F – /kg (from NaF) in their diets for 50 days. Compared to a control group, the activities of pancreatic lipase and protease (but not amylase) were significantly decreased. Pancreatic acinar cells showed markedly swollen mitochondria and loss of mitochondrial cristae…

TOXIC EFFECTS OF FLUORIDE ON KIDNEY FUNCTION AND HISTOLOGICAL STRUCTURE IN YOUNG PIGS

The effects of chronic fluoride exposure on kidney integrity and histological structure, along with effects on associated enzymes and metabolite changes, were investigated in young pigs. Twenty-four

Effect Of Sodium Fluoride On The Thyroid Follicular Cells And The Amelioration By Calcium Supplementation In Albino Rats: A Light And An Electron Microscopic Study.

Calcium supplementation can ameliorate the adverse effects of NaF on thyroid follicular cells in people at risk of high exposure.

Role of Vitamin E in Combination with Methionine and L- carnosine Against Sodium Fluoride-Induced Hematological, Biochemical, DNA Damage, Histological and Immunohistochemical Changes in Pancreas of Albino Rats.

The results indicate that sodium fluoride can inhibit pancreatic digestive enzyme activities and cause histological and immunohistochemical changes, which may lead to a series of biochemical and pathological abnormalities and concurrent administration of NaF and vit.E in combination with methionine and L- carnosine for 35 days caused significant amelioration in all parameters.

Increased apoptotic lymphocyte population in the spleen of young chickens fed diets high in fluorine.

.SUMMARY: Three hundred one-day-old avian broilers were divided into four equal groups of 75 that were fed for 42 days as follows: a control diet containing 23 mg F/ kg and three high F diets

Effect of maternal exposure of fluoride on oxidative stress markers and amelioration by selected antioxidants in developing central nervous system of rats

The administration of antioxidants vitamin E, vitamin C, selenium and zinc produced a promising accost and timely intervention to the aggravated impairment during highly vulnerable early stage of life.

Effect of Silymarin Supplementation on Nickel Oxide Nanoparticle Toxicity to Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Fingerlings: Pancreas Tissue Histopathology and Alkaline Protease Activity

NiO-NPs affected pancreatic tissue and its function in a dose-dependent manner, while dietary silymarin helped fish to sustain digestive capacity, while future researches should focus on the ecological outcomes of pollutants induced toxicity.

Ultra Structural Changes in Rat Thyroid Gland Exposed to Fluoride

Thyroid is the largest among vertebrate endocrine glands and is unique in that it stores secretory product (thyroid hormone) extracellularly. The thyroid follicle is the functional histological unit

Cell-cycle blockage associated with increased apoptotic cells in the thymus of chickens fed on diets high in fluorine.

Excess dietary F in the range of 400-1200 mg/kg caused histological lesions, G(0)/G(1) arrest and cellular apoptosis in the thymus, which inhibited the development of thymUS and finally led to impaired cellular immune function.

EFFECTS OF FLUOROSIS ON LIPID PEROXIDATION AND ANTIOXIDANT SYSTEMS IN YOUNG PIGS

The results suggest that fluoride induces excessive production of NO and reactive oxygen species (ROS), enhances lipid peroxidation, and disturbs the antioxidant system of pigs.

Effects of Fluoride on the Ultrastructure of Thyroid in Chicks

To investigate the effects of fluoride on the ultrastructure of thyroid in chicks, the animal models of chick fluorosis were successfully established by feeding the diets containing fluorine as sodium

Secretion of Pancreatic Lipase and Colipase from Rat Pancreas

It is concluded that lipase and colipase are secreted in parallel both in vivo and in vitro.

Pancreatic Secretory Enzymes in the Diagnosis of Acute Pancreatitis

Computed tomography with contrast enhancement (CECT) and ultrasonography (US) are examples of recent diagnostic techniques which, along with clinical assement of the patient, provide the basis for a decision on therapy.
