The purpose of the experiments explained in detail was to check the effects of long intervals between oil changes on the operating behaviour of Diesel engines in the conditions of the use of regular buses in local traffic. The long intervals between oil changes were set at 70,000 km and 35,000 km for the experimental vehicles.
