It is rather uncommon for inscriptions with the name of a biblical settlement to be found at the actual site to fix its identification conclusively. In recent years there have been two famous instances where such vital discoveries have been made. One of these is the sensational royal dedicatory inscription discovered in  at Tel Miqne in the Shephelah.
