Les titanates du groupe de l'ilmenite sont des mineraux accessoires relativement repandus dans les venues de syenite nephelinique agpaitique (lujavrite) du complexe alcalin de Pilansberg, en Afrique du Sud. Ils ont cristallise en trois generations et definissent une solution solide continue entre ecandrewsite et pyrophanite, allant de (Zn 0 . 8 1 Mn 0 . 1 2 Fe 0 . 0 7 )TiO 3 a (Mn 0 . 9 3 Fe 0 . 7 )TiO 3 .
