Abstract:We construct dyonic states in 2+1-dimensional lattice -Higgs models, i.e. states which are both, electrically and magnetically charged. These states are parametrized by , where ɛ and μ are -valued electric and magnetic charge distributions, respectively, living on the spatial lattice . The associated Hilbert spaces carry charged representations of the observable algebra , the global transfer matrix t and a unitary implementation of the group of spatial lattice translations. We prove… Expand
Elementary excitations in gapped quantum spin systems.
TLDR
It is shown that for translation invariant systems, simultaneous eigenstates of energy and momentum with an eigenvalue that is separated from the rest of the spectrum in that momentum sector can be arbitrarily well approximated by building a momentum superposition of a local operator acting on the ground state. Localized endomorphisms in Kitaev's toric code on the plane
We consider various aspects of Kitaev's toric code model on a plane in the C*-algebraic approach to quantum spin systems on a lattice. In particular, we show that elementary excitations of the groundExpand

Soliton quantization in lattice field theories
Quantization of solitons in terms of Euclidean region functional integrals is developed, and Osterwalder-Schrader reconstruction is extended to theories with topological solitons. The quantizationExpand
