Dynamics of adherence junctions during early stages of epithelial—mesenchymal transition: Possible mechanisms of tube and alveolus formation in ontogeny

Abstract

64 The study of embryonic morphogenesis, including the molecular and cellular mechanisms of tissue and organ formation, is one of important goals of modern embryology. Understanding these mechanisms is a necessary condition for the development of the meth odology of cellular and molecular engineering and correction of defects of tissue and organ formation. Formation of the lumens and cavities in continuous epithelial and endothelial outgrowths, the process that is the main part of all gland formation, as well as vas cular structures and heart anlagen, is an important stage of morphogenesis.
