We present investigations of the formation rate and collisional stability of lithium Feshbach molecules in an ultracold three-component mixture composed of two resonantly interacting fermionic ${}^{6}$Li spin states and bosonic ${}^{174}$Yb. We observe long molecule lifetimes ($g100$ ms) even in the presence of a large ytterbium bath and extract reaction rate coefficients of the system. We find good collisional stability of the mixture in the unitary regime, opening new possibilities for…

Two-Body Interactions Between Li and Cs Atoms

In this chapter we investigate binary scattering properties of an ultracold mixture of Li and Cs atoms, on which the further exploration of few-body effects throughout the rest of this thesis is

Detecting entrainment in Fermi-Bose mixtures

We propose an experimental protocol to directly detect the Andreev-Bashkin effect (entrainment) in the bulk mixture of a bosonic and fermionic superfluid using a ring geometry. Our protocol involves

Special Topic : Cold Atoms Heteronuclear Efimov resonances in ultracold quantum gases

TheEfimov scenario is a universal three-body effect addressing many areas of modern quantum physics. It plays an important role in the transition between fewand many-body physics and has enabled

Heteronuclear Efimov resonances in ultracold quantum gases

The Efimov scenario is a universal three-body effect addressing many areas of modern quantum physics. It plays an important role in the transition between few- and many-body physics and has enabled

Few-body physics in resonantly interacting ultracold quantum gases

We provide a general discussion on the importance of three-body Efimov physics for strongly interacting ultracold quantum gases. Using the adiabatic hyperspherical representation, we discuss a

Ultracold Mixtures of Rubidium and Ytterbium for Open Quantum System Engineering

Abstract : Exquisite experimental control of quantum systems has led to sharp growth of basic quantum research in recent years. Controlling dissipation has been crucial in producing ultracold,

Connecting Few-Body Inelastic Decay to Quantum Correlations in a Many-Body System: A Weakly Coupled Impurity in a Resonant Fermi Gas.

The results demonstrate that few-body losses can be used as a quantitative probe of quantum correlations in many-body ensembles.

Efimov Resonances in an Ultracold Mixture with Extreme Mass Imbalance

This thesis reports on the investigation of few-body physics in an ultracold mass-imbalanced mixture at large scattering lengths. For this purpose, a new apparatus for the creation of quantum

Feshbach resonances in Na23+K39 mixtures and refined molecular potentials for the NaK molecule

We present a detailed study of interspecies Feshbach resonances of the bosonic $^{23}\mathrm{Na}+$$^{39}\mathrm{K}$ mixture for magnetic fields up to $750 \, \mathrm{G}$ in various collision

Since we observe and model process (IV) by its loss signature, we cannot distinguish it from the analogous process resulting in a vibrationally relaxed LiYb molecule, Li s 2 + Yb → LiYb + Li (+ǫD)
