A simple method for presenting a dynamic transition between Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction zones is considered. Experiments are conducted on different apertures and diffraction patterns are photographed at various distances between the screen and the aperture. A diverging lens is introduced into the experimental setup to provide enlarged Fresnel diffraction patterns. Fresnel and Fraunhofer diffraction patterns and dynamic transition between them can be easily obtained on a distance of few…

Surveying Thai freshmen science students' background knowledge of basic properties of laser beam
Nowadays, lasers play a key role in human life. Some lasers are simply used in classrooms while some are used in a nuclear reactor. Lasers are essential components in many advanced instruments such

Fresnel Diffraction Using a He-Ne Gas Laser.
An advanced laboratory experiment of Fresnel diffraction is presented. A He-Ne gas laser is used as the source and a wire is used as the opaque diffracting strip. A photograph of the diffraction
A Student Experiment in Fresnel Diffraction
An experiment in Fresnel diffraction is described suitable for third-year physics students, that emphasizes some of the numerical, as distinct from the purely observational, aspects of diffraction at
Diffraction plates for classroom demonstrations.
The diffraction plate, which consists of an array of many identical apertures or obstacles, produces large Fraunhofer diffraction patterns of sufficiently high intensity such that they may be seen
