Dynamic of assortment of Pinus taeda L. plantation in different site classes in Southern Brazil.

The objective of this study was to examine the evolution of wood assortment in Pinus taeda stands, located in Parana state. 144 trees were sampled in three site classes and complete stem analysis was applied. The average assortment volumes per tree were obtained in all age classes and sites. 7-9 year age classes predominantly contain volumes adequate for pulpwood. In 10-12 year classes larger volumes were obtained for sawnwood, with 51.09%, 47.63% and 37.89% of the total volume, respectively…
