Between April 2001 and 2007, we treated 208 patients with pectus carinatum by using a specially designed dynamic compression system (DCS) that uses a custom-made aluminum brace. Recently, an electronic pressure measuring device was added to the brace. Results were evaluated by using a double-blinded subjective scale (1 to 10). A total of 208 patients were treated over 6 years; 154 were males (74%) and the mean age was 12.5 years (range 3 to 18 years). Mean utilization time was 7.2 hours daily… CONTINUE READING
