Dust in High-redshift Galaxies

Abstract

Measurements of Zn and Cr abundances in 18 damped Lya systems (DLAs) at absorption redshifts (but mostly between and 3) show that metals and dust are much less abunzabs\ 0.692È3.390 zabs^ 2 dant in high-redshift galaxies than in the Milky Way today.
