OBJECTIVE Ductus venosus (DV) Doppler waveforms show 2 periods of decreased velocity during iso-volumetric relaxation (isovolumetric relaxation velocity [IRV]) and atrial contraction (A wave or end-diastolic velocity [EDV]). In intrauterine growth-restricted (IUGR) fetuses, both may become abnormal.
