A bstractIn this short paper we look at the action of T-duality and string duality groups on fermions, in maximally-supersymmetric theories and related theories. Briefly, we argue that typical duality groups such as SL(2, ℤ) have sign ambiguities in their actions on fermions, and propose that pertinent duality groups be extended by ℤ2, to groups such as the metaplectic group. Specifically, we look at duality groups arising from mapping class groups of tori in M theory compactifications, T…

In this article we review how categorical equivalences are realized by renormalization group flow in physical realizations of stacks, derived categories, and derived schemes. We begin by reviewing
Theories of class F and anomalies
A bstractWe consider the 6d (2, 0) theory on a fibration by genus g curves, and dimensionally reduce along the fiber to 4d theories with duality defects. This generalizes class S theories, for which
The anomaly that was not meant IIB
Type IIB supergravity enjoys a discrete non‐Abelian duality group, which has potential quantum anomalies. In this paper we explicitly compute these, and present the bordism group that controls them,
I/c-Extremization in M/F-Duality
We study the holographic dual to c-extremization for 2d (0, 2) superconformal field theories (SCFTs) that have an AdS3 dual realized in Type IIB with varying axio-dilaton, i.e. Ftheory. M/F-duality
Anomalies of duality groups and extended conformal manifolds
A self-duality group $\cal G$ in quantum field theory can have anomalies. In that case, the space of ordinary coupling constants $\cal M$ can be extended to include the space $\cal F$ of coefficients
Global aspects of moduli spaces of 2d SCFTs
The Bagger-Witten line bundle is a line bundle over moduli spaces of two-dimensional SCFTs, related to the Hodge line bundle of holomorphic top-forms on Calabi-Yau manifolds. It has recently been a
Discrete anomalies in supergravity and consistency of string backgrounds
A bstractWe examine SL(2, ℤ) anomalies in ten and eight-dimensional supergravities, the induced local counterterms and their realization in string theory. Composite connections play an important rôle

Swampland cobordism conjecture and non-Abelian duality groups
We study the cobordism conjecture of McNamara and Vafa which asserts that the bordism group of quantum gravity is trivial. In the context of type IIB string theory compactified on a circle, this

On S-Duality in Abelian Gauge Theory
U(1) gauge theory on ${\bf R}^4$ is known to possess an electric-magnetic duality symmetry that inverts the coupling constant and extends to an action of $SL(2,{\bf Z})$. In this paper, the duality
Reducing S duality to T duality.
TLDR
Yang-Mills S-duality makes predictions for all correlators of this effective conformal field theory that Montonen-Olive duality between electric and magnetic states reduces to the standard two-dimensionalDuality between momentum and winding states.
An SL(2,Bbb Z) anomaly in IIB supergravity and its F-theory interpretation
The SL(2,) duality transformations of type IIB supergravity are shown to be anomalous in generic F-theory backgrounds due to the anomalous transformation of the phase of the chiral fermion
D 4 R 4 term in type IIB string theory on T 2 and U-duality
We propose a manifestly U-duality invariant modular form for the ${D}^{4}{\mathcal{R}}^{4}$ interaction in type IIB string theory compactified on ${T}^{2}$. It receives perturbative contributions up
