Multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by intra-blood-brain barrier immunoglobulin synthesis that persists lifelong. Subcellular fractionation and two-dimensional electrophoresis were used in conjunction with immune precipitation and immunoblotting to identify antigenic determinants for this immunoglobulin.
