Tissue engineering of small-diameter blood vessels is still challenging because of restenosis and burst. To prevent thrombosis, rapid endothelialization along the lumen of grafts is intended, followed by proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) around the exterior for compliance.
