Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is a procedure for lymphatic staging in early breast cancer. In a valid SLNB procedure, axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) can be omitted in nodenegative caseswithout compromising patient safety. The SLNB technology has also dramatically improved the quality of life for women with breast cancer.
