The frequencies of differem pharmacogenetic phenotypes (hydroxylator, acetylator, methylator etc.) differ considerably in various ethnic groups. The estimated frequency of the poor hydroxylator phenotype in Europe is 2-9% [1, 2, 3, 5]. As there are not data for this phenotype in Hungary, hydroxylator phenotyping was carried out in 100 healthy volunteers aged 4-17 years, of both sexes (48 females, 52 males), comprising children, students and staff members of a foster home.
