A domain supplemental approach is proposed to avoid the boundary layer effects encountered in solving problems of elasticity by the boundary element method if the locations under consideration are very close to the boundary. The proposed approach is relatively simple to use without the requirement for refining the boundary elements or making special deduction for computation.
