Doctors and compulsory procedures: Section 47 of the National Assistance Act 1948.

Abstract

There are several compulsory procedures which doctors may use in dealing with their patients. The best known is the Mental Health Act 1959 and information on its use is collected routinely and published annually.' Regional health authorities can also supply information from their statistics departments.
