We examine the recently found equivalence for the response of a static scalar source interacting with a massless Klein-Gordon field when the source is ~i! static in Schwarzschild spacetime, in the Unruh vacuum associated with the Hawking radiation, and ~ii! uniformly accelerated in Minkowski spacetime, in the inertial vacuum, provided that the source’s proper acceleration is the same in both cases. It is shown that this equivalence is broken when the massless Klein-Gordon field is replaced by…

Is the equivalence for the response of static scalar sources in the Schwarzschild and Rindler spacetimes valid only in four dimensions
It was shown recently that in four dimensions scalar sources with fixed proper acceleration minimally coupled to a massless Klein-Gordon field lead to the same responses when they are (i) uniformly
Quantization of the Proca field in the Rindler wedge and the interaction of uniformly accelerated currents with massive vector bosons from the Unruh thermal bath
We canonically quantize the Proca field in the Rindler wedge and compute the total response rate of a uniformly accelerated current interacting with massive vector Rindler particles from the Unruh
The Unruh effect and its applications
It has been 30 years since the discovery of the Unruh effect. It has played a crucial role in our understanding that the particle content of a field theory is observer dependent. This effect is
