Diversity of forest tree species in Yanbaru, the northern part of Okinawa Island

Abstract

The natural forests of Yanbaru, in the northern part of Okinawa Island, harbor many endemic and endangered birds and mammals, and are dominated by an evergreen oak, Castanopsis sieboldii.
