Four new species of Tremella (Tremellales, Basidiomycota) based on morphology and DNA sequence data
A high species diversity of Tremella waiting to be discovered is indicated using molecular phylogenetic analysis based on a combined sequence dataset of the nuc rDNA internal transcribed spacer region and nuc 28S rDNA D1/D2 domain in conjunction with the morphological characters.
Phylogeny and character evolution in the jelly fungi (Tremellomycetes, Basidiomycota, Fungi).

  • 2008
A novel psychrophilic basidiomycetous species is described in a new anamorphic genus as Mrakiella cryoconiti gen. nov., sp. nov.; the type strain of Mrakiella cryoconiti is strain A15(T) (=CBS
Farysizyma gen. nov., an anamorphic genus in the Ustilaginales to accommodate three novel epiphytic basidiomycetous yeast species from America, Europe and Asia.
A novel anamorphic genus, Farysizyma, is created to accommodate the three undescribed species, which were named Farya itapuensis, Farya setubalensis and Farye taiwaniana and placed the putative novel species in a clade with R. acheniorum and the dimorphic smut fungus FarySia chardoniana.
Towards an integrated phylogenetic classification of the Tremellomycetes
Expanding evolutionary diversity in the Ustilaginomycotina: Fereydouniaceae fam. nov. and Fereydounia gen. nov., the first urocystidalean yeast lineage
This is the first report of anamorphic saprobic fungus residing in the Urocystidales, stressing the remarkable evolutionary diversity in the subphylum Ustilaginomycotina.
Contributions of rpb2 and tef1 to the phylogeny of mushrooms and allies (Basidiomycota, Fungi).
12 Tremellomycetes and Related Groups
The state of knowledge of the morphology, ultrastructure, and ecology of Tremellomycetes are reviewed and their phylogenetic relationships are discussed, complemented by a comprehensive molecular phylogenetic analysis, including most of the species for which sequence data are available.
Sporidiobolus longiusculus sp. nov. and Sporobolomyces patagonicus sp. nov., novel yeasts of the Sporidiobolales isolated from aquatic environments in Patagonia, Argentina.
During a survey of carotenogenic yeasts carried out in north-western Patagonia (Argentina), several ballistoconidia-producing strains belonging to the order Sporidiobolales were isolated from aquatic environments and the proposal of Sporobolomyces patagonicus as a distinct species was proposed.
