The secondary metabolism in the leaves of P. cernuum produces cinnamic and dihydrocinnamic acid derivatives and the lignan cubebin. In case of P. crassinervium flavonoids and prenylated hydroquinones were characterized as major compounds. The cell cultures showed the production of the phenylethylamines dopamine and tyramine in P. cernuum, while in case of P. crassinervium four alkamides were isolated as major compounds, including the new 2,3,4-trimethoxy-N-methyl-aristolactam and 3-hydroxy-2… Expand

Suspensiones celulares y producción de metabolitos secundarios en cultivos in vitro de Piper sp.
TLDR
The callus induction was depended of Piper species, explant tipe and plant growth regulator combinations, and results may be useful for further characterization of the activated secondary metabolites pathways in in vitro systems of various Piper species. Expand
Effect of methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid on the production of metabolites in cell suspensions cultures of Piper cumanense (Piperaceae)
TLDR
Production of metabolites was dependent on the type and the concentration of elicitor, and 5-hidroximetilfurfural, (Z)-9-octadecenamide and phenol were induced by elicitation. Expand
In vitro morphogenesis and cell suspension culture establishment in Piper solmsianum C. DC. (Piperaceae)
TLDR
The aim of this work was to establish a cell suspension culture system for P. solmsianum, a shrub from Southeast Brazil in which many biologically active compounds were identified. Expand
Natural products from Peperomia: occurrence, biogenesis and bioactivity
TLDR
The bioactivities of several compounds indicated their potential as antiparasites, antimicrobial, antiviral, cytotoxic agents against several tumoral strains and also as herbicides. Expand
Tissue culture of Piper sp. (Piperaceae): In vitro propagation, organogenesis and germplasm conservation
TLDR
The aim of this work was to establish several in vitro culture systems in different Piper species in order to propagate clonally and regenerate by direct organogenesis for the establishment the field plants, the conservation and international germoplasm exchange. Expand
Metabolite pattern in root nodules of the actinorhizal plant Casuarina equisetifolia.
TLDR
A metabolomic approach was applied to root nodules of mature C. equisetifolia trees, leading to the identification of an undescribed taraxerane-type triterpenoid ester, 3-O-dihydrocoumaroyl β-taraxerol, along with twelve known compounds and the potential function of tyramine was preliminarily examined and discussed. Chemical constituents from Piper boehmeriifolium (Miq.) Wall. ex C. DC
Abstract The chemical investigation of whole plants Piper boehmeriifolium (Miq.) Wall. ex C. DC. led to the isolation of 22 compounds, including two lignans ( 1 – 2 ), sixteen amide alkaloids ( 3 –Expand
Cultivo de tejidos de Piper sp. (Piperaceae): Propagación, organogénesis y conservación de germoplasma in vitro
TLDR
Several in vitro culture systems in different Piper species were established in order to propagate clonally and regenerate by direct organogenesis for the establishment the field plants, the conservation and international germoplasm exchange. Expand
Phytochemicals and bioactivities of Piper Maingayi HK. F., P. Magnibaccum C.DC and P. Caninum Blume species
The chemical compositions of the essential oils and phytochemicals of Piper maingayi Hk. F., P. magnibaccum C. DC. and P. caninum Blume were studied. The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillationExpand
Induction and growth pattern of callus from Piper permucronatum leaves
TLDR
The objective of this study was to provide a protocol for callus induction from P. permucronatum leaves and an identification of the callus growth pattern, focusing on the deceleration phase, when thecallus cells must be subcultured into liquid medium in order to produce a cell suspension cultures. Occurrence of L-DOPA and dopamine in plants and cell cultures ofMucuna pruriens and effects of 2,4-d and NaCl on these compounds
TLDR
Dopamine induction appears to be a specific metabolic effect of 2,4-d, whereas salt stress, as caused by the addition of NaCl, gives no induction of dopamine formation, whereas L-DOPA is released into the medium. Expand
In vitro micropropagation of Piper longum – an important medicinal plant
TLDR
Efficient and rapid tissue culture systems were developed for Piper longum, an important medicinal plant, through shoot tip multiplication and direct regeneration and plantlets, thus developed were established in soil. Expand
