A radioimmunoassay (RIA) for the recently discovered crustacean cardioactive peptide (CCAP) has been developed and used to determine contents of CCAP in different parts of the nervous system of the shore crab Carcinus maenas. Immunoreactive material was detected throughout the nervous system.
