Abstract ABO and RHD blood grouping was carried out on 400 Saudi adult male subjects, 100 each from Sakaka, Domaht Al-Jandal, Al-Qurayat and Sweer cities of the Al-Jouf Province of the Saudi Arabia. Finger prick blood samples were tested for both the blood groups by routine slide method. In the total material studied here from the Al-Jouf Province, blood group O was found highest (0.628), followed by A (0.193), B (0.179) and AB (7.3%) while the percentage of RHD Positive (0.705)was greater than…
High rhesus (Rh(D)) negative frequency and ethnic-group based ABO blood group distribution in Ethiopia
TLDR
While the ABO blood group distribution is similar to previous reports, the Rh(D) frequency is much higher than what was reported so far for Ethiopia and continental Africa.
Frequency of ABO-Rhesus Blood Groups in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia
TLDR
It is demonstrated that the most common blood group in the Western province is O, and blood group A was noticed to be less frequent.
Rh Blood Groups in Saudi Arabian Population
ABO and rhesus (Rh) blood group antigens are the most frequently studied genetic markers in a large group of people. The knowledge of the distribution of ABO and Rh blood groups is essential for
FREQUENCY OF ABO AND RHESUS (D) BLOOD GROUPS IN DAKSHINA KANNADA DISTRICT OF KARNATAKA - A STUDY FROM RURAL TERTIARY CARE TEACHING HOSPITAL IN SOUTH INDIA
TLDR
O positive blood group is significantly high in the authors' population and every transfusion centre should have a record of frequency of blood group system in their population to help in inventory management.
Frequency distribution of ABO and Rh (D) blood group alleles in Silte Zone, Ethiopia
TLDR
The frequency of ABO blood groups in both Rh positive and negative subjects among the three ethnic groups of the Silte Zone, Ethiopia was O> A >B > AB, except in the Sodo ethnic group where the blood group A was the commonest among Rh negative subjects.
Distribution of ABO and Rh blood groups in a major ethnic group of the West Iran, the Kurdish population
TLDR
New insight is provided into distribution of the ABO/Rh blood groups in a major ethnic population of west Iran and the presented data may be useful in health care planning, population genetic studies, genetic counseling and medical diagnosis.
Distribution of ABO and Rh (D) blood groups among students attending secondary and preparatory schools in Bote town, Oromia national regional state, Ethiopia

International Journal of Science and Technology Education Research
  • 2019
TLDR
The observed and expected frequencies of individuals having ABO and Rh blood were not significantly different in both blood systems and the present study gives vital information regarding the management of blood bank and transfusion services in the community.
Heterogeneity and diversity of ABO and Rh blood group genes in select Saudi Arabian populations.
TLDR
Clinal analyses revealed that the r[O] allele showed an increasing trend from North-East to South-West, and conversely the q[B] allele exhibited a decreasing trend at these coordinates, which present interesting aspects of the blood group allele distribution across the geography of Saudi Arabia.
Distribution of haemoglobin variants, ABO blood group and rhesus factor among nursing students of Madonna university Nigeria
TLDR
It is reported that blood group and Rhesus system is the most vital human blood group systems for blood transfusion and other blood grouping system based on antigens exist but in clinical practices only ABO and Rashesus system are essential.
A retrospective study: ABO and Rh phenotype blood group distribution among blood donors in H.N.B. Base Hospital, Srinagar, Uttarakhand, India
TLDR
The most common blood group found among the Gharwali donors was B positive while the least common was AB negative, which plays an important contribution for making government policies to develop National Health Program.

Frequency of ABO blood groups in the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia.
TLDR
The results show that the most frequent blood group in Saudis is O-positive, while blood group A is observed at a lower frequency relative to values from Western populations, whereas a significant increase inBlood group B combined with a slight increase in blood group AB was recorded.
Distribution of ABO and Rh-D Blood Groups among Blood Donors in a Tertiary Care Centre in South India

[The frequency of ABO blood groups and the expression of group antigens and isohemagglutinins in Syrian Arabs].
TLDR
Syrian Arabs more often have blood groups A and 0 and less frequently group B and group B than Slavs; group AB occurs in Arabs almost twice more rarely than in Slavs and is a rare blood group for them.
The frequency of ABO blood groups and the expression of group antigens and isohemagglutinins in Syrian Arabs
TLDR
The expression of group antigens A and B and isohemagglutinins alpha and beta is normal in Arabs and the cause of very high titers of group antibodies in an appreciable part of residents of Kiev is unclear.
The Distribution of the Human Blood Groups and other Polymorphisms
TLDR
The blood groups have been a trail blazer for the study of human polymorphism, and this book provides a data bank in a single volume which can be consulted at short notice in most larger laboratories.
Basic principles of the ABO and Rh blood group systems for hemapheresis practitioners
TLDR
The “D” or Rh0 antigen is the most clinically significant blood group antigen next to the ABO antigens and belongs to the Rh System, which consists of a trio of genes that are so closely linked that they are inherited as a package.
ABO BLOOD GROUPS AND HEMOGLOBIN VARIANTS AMONG NUBIANS, EGYPT, U.A.R.
TLDR
Three hundred and fifty-six Nubians of Upper Egypt were tested for hemoglobin variants and ABO blood groups and no hemoglobin variant or ABO variants were detected.
