The wide morphological variation of Aegilops tauschii has led to the distinction of different subspecies; a typical ssp. tauschii and a second ssp. strangulata. However some researchers pointed out the existance of the intermediate form among morphologically distinguished subspecies. Distribution, diversity and the relationship between different subspecies and the intermediate form were evaluated in the Iranian Ae. tauschii collection. This collection was classified to 15 different populations…

Microsatellite analysis of genetic diversity and population genetic structure of Aegilops tauschii Coss. in Northern Iran

The level of genetic diversity for Gilan, Golestan and Mazanderan provinces was higher than for Ardebil, Ghazvin and Semnan provinces, suggesting that these regions may provide a readily available source of potentially useful variation for wheat improvement.

Distribution and characterization of Aegilops cylindrica species from Iran

Results of factor analysis for 9 morphological chromosome traits showed that karyotypic variation within accessions are related to the length of chromosomes and there is difference between accessions for their total chromosome length, but the karyotype of different accessions were almost the same for the symmetry.

Distribution and characterization of Aegilops cylindrica host from Iran

Results of factor analysis for nine morphological chromosome traits showed that karyotypic variation within accessions are related to the length of chromosomes and there is difference between the accessions for their total chromosome length, but the karyotype of different accession are almost the same for the symmetry.

Molecular diversity and phylogeny of Triticum-Aegilops species possessing D genome revealed by SSR and ISSR markers

A high level of genetic diversity was revealed from the accessions sampled from different eco-geographical regions of Iran, and consistent patterns of genetic relationships for ISSR data sets were indicated, however, the grouping of accessions was not completely accorded to their own geographical origins.

EVALUATION OF AGRO-MORPHOLOGICAL DIVERSITY IN WILD RELATIVES OF WHEAT COLLECTED IN IRAN

In this study, a core collection of 180 Aegilops and Triticum accessions belonging to six diploid (T. boeoticum Bioss., T. urartu Gandilyan., Ae. speltoides Tausch., Ae. tauschii Coss., Ae. caudata

Genealogical analysis of subspecies divergence and spikelet-shape diversification in central Eurasian wild wheat Aegilops tauschii Coss.

The genealogical and geographic structure of variation in spikelet morphology was analyzed for central Eurasian wild wheat Aegilops tauschii Coss, shedding some light on the patterns of subspecies divergence and spikelet-shape diversification in the course of Ae.

Stem rust resistance in Aegilops tauschii germplasm

Tests of allelism among 14 highly resistant accessions indicated the common presence of YrAS2388, previously mapped on chromosome arm 4DS, in all accessions, which assist with informed introgression of the D-genome trait for stripe rust resistance in common wheat.

Multivariate analysis and clustering reveal high morphological diversity in Tunisian autochthonous grapes ( Vitis vinifera ): insights into characterization, conservation and commercialization

Aim: To characterize autochthonous grapevine cultivars from a national germplasm collection, to estimate the phenotypic diversity among and within the cultivars, and to identify the traits that

Species variation of Aegilops genus and heavy metal content in plant habitat soil at southern Adriatic localities

The Aegilops genus is a wild relative to the bread wheat, having chromosomes homologous to wheat chromosomes, and could be the source of many abiotic stress tolerance genes.

The Allelic Diversity of the Gibberellin Signaling Pathway Genes in Aegilops tauschii Coss

New alleles of the Rht-D1, Gid1-D, and Gid2-D genes are promising for introgression into bread wheat and studying their effect on plant height and adaptability.

The structure of the Aegilops tauschii genepool and the evolution of hexaploid wheat

Polymorphism in the lengths of restriction fragments at 53 single-copy loci, the rRNA locus Nor3, and the high-molecular-weight glutenin locus Glu1 was investigated in the D genome of hexaploid Triticum aestivum and that of Aegilops tauschii, and all appear to share a single D-genome genepool.

Aegilops tauschii: Genetic Variation in Iran

Variation patterns of low polymorphic locus Aco2 and highly polymorphic Ep are similar in both subspecies but markedly differ between subspecies and natural regions also, implying that natural selection is involved.

Variation of molecular markers among geographically diverse accessions of Triticum tauschii

To study patterns of variability at a large number of loci, restriction fragment length polymorphism genotypes at 25 loci in a germ-plasm collection of 102 T. tauschii accessions were determined and Hedrick's probability of genotypic identity, botanical varieties T. typica and T. anathera were very similar to each other.

Variation in the intergenic spacer region of the ribosomal RNA genes (located at the Nor locus) was assayed in a collection of 411 accessions of Triticum tauschii from Turkey, USSR, Iran, Afghanisan, Pakistan, and China and showed a high level of recombination with the 5SDna-2 locus, which was also located on chromosome 5D.

ISOZYME VARIATIONS IN AEGILOPS AND TRITICUM, IV. THE ORIGIN OF THE COMMON WHEATS REVEALED FROM THE STUDY ON ESTERASE ISOZYMES IN SYNTHESIZED HEXAPLOID WHEATS

Esterase isozymes in two kinds of synthesized hexaploid wheat and its parental strains were analyzed by the isoelectric focusing method using pH 6-8 carrier ampholite. In present-day hexaploid wheat,
