Pseudophilotes bavius (Eversmann, 1832) is a butterfly species of European conservation concern (listed in Annexes II and IV of the Habitats Directive 92/43/EEC) with a restricted and fragmented distribution. In Romania, where it reaches the north-western limit of its range, P. bavius has disjunct populations: Transylvania in the north-west and Dobrogea in the south-east, with a gap of about 400 km between the two.
