Acyl coenzyme A:diacylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1) is one of two DGAT enzymes known to catalyze the final step in mammalian triglyceride synthesis. Mice deficient in DGAT1 are resistant to obesity and have enhanced insulin sensitivity.
