The heat-labile enterotoxin (LT) of Escherichia coli is immunologically and physiochemically related to cholera enterotoxin. A number of studies have been performed to determine the relationship of the ADP-ribosylating enzymatic activity of these enterotoxins to toxicity and adjuvanticity.
