BACKGROUND In Brazil, carbapenem use has been limited by high carbapenem-resistance rates among Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates. OBJECTIVE The main objective of this study was to evaluate the presence of an epidemic P. aeruginosa strain in unrelated Brazilian hospitals.
