This is a report concerning two cases of unusual complications, dissection and rupture of the ascending aorta, secondary to saphenous vein bypass surgery. We recommend that evaluation of patients undergoing saphenous vein bypass surgery include careful image-intensifier fluoroscopic examination during coronary arteriography.
