We report the results of the first sensitive L-band survey of the intermediate-age (2.5-30 Myr) clusters NGC 2264, NGC 2362, and NGC 1960. We use JHKL colors to obtain a census of the circumstellar disk fractions in each cluster. We find disk fractions of 52% ± 10%, 12% ± 4%, and 3% ± 3% for the three clusters, respectively. Together with our previously published JHKL investigations of the younger NGC 2024, Trapezium, and IC 348 clusters, we have completed the first systematic and homogeneous…
Disk evolution in the solar neighborhood - I. Disk frequencies from 1 to 100 Myr
We study the evolution of circumstellar disks in 22 young (1 to 100 Myr) nearby (within 500 pc) associations over the entire mass spectrum using photometry covering from the optical to the
Cepheus OB2: Disk Evolution and Accretion at 3-10 Myr
We present the results of MMT observations of young stars for our study of protoplanetary disks at ages 1–10 Myr in two young clusters located in the Cepheus OB2 region: Trumpler 37 (embedded in the
No disks around low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the young sigma Orionis cluster?
We report on the analysis of 2MASS near-infrared data of a sample of low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the σ  Orionis cluster. Youth and cluster membership have been spectroscopically confirmed
The Structure of the Young Star Cluster NGC 6231. I. Stellar Population
NGC 6231 is a young cluster (age ∼2–7 Myr) dominating the Sco OB1 association (distance ∼1.59 kpc) with ∼100 O and B stars and a large pre-main-sequence stellar population. We combine a reanalysis of
CSI 2264: Investigating rotation and its connection with disk accretion in the young open cluster NGC 2264
The low spin rates measured for solar-type stars at an age of a few Myr (~10% of the break-up velocity) indicate that some mechanism of angular momentum regulation must be at play in the early
We present Infrared Spectrograph spectra and revised Multiband Imaging Photometer photometry for the 18 members of the η Chamaeleontis cluster. Aged 8 Myr, the η Cha cluster is one of the few nearby
A Comprehensive View of Circumstellar Disks in Chamaeleon I: Infrared Excess, Accretion Signatures, and Binarity
We present a comprehensive study of disks around 81 young, low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the nearby ~2 Myr old Chamaeleon I star-forming region. We use mid-infrared photometry from the Spitzer
Accretion Disks around Young Stars: Lifetimes, Disk Locking, and Variability
We report the findings of a comprehensive study of disk accretion and related phenomena in four of the nearest young stellar associations spanning 6-30 million years in age, an epoch that may
We have analyzed nearly all images of the Taurus star-forming region at 3.6, 4.5, 5.8, 8.0, and 24 μm that were obtained during the cryogenic mission of the Spitzer Space Telescope (46 deg2) and have
The Evolution of Circumstellar Disks Surrounding Intermediate-mass Stars: IC 1805
We report the results of a study of the intermediate- and high-mass stars in the young, rich star-forming complex IC 1805, based on a combination of optical, near-infrared, and mid-infrared

Circumstellar Disks in the IC 348 Cluster
We report the results of the first sensitive L-band (3.4 μm) imaging survey of the young IC 348 cluster in Perseus. In conjunction with previously acquired JHK (1.25, 1.65, and 2.2 μm) observations,
A Mid-Infrared Study of the Young Stellar Population in the NGC 2024 Cluster
We present the results of the first broadband N (10.8 μm) survey of the NGC 2024 cluster. The mid-infrared data were combined with our previously published JHKL photometry to construct spectral
Infrared L-Band Observations of the Trapezium Cluster: A Census of Circumstellar Disks and Candidate Protostars
We report the results of a sensitive near-infrared JHKL imaging survey of the Trapezium cluster in Orion. We use the JHKL colors to obtain a census of infrared excess stars in the cluster. Of (391)
A Near-Infrared L-Band Survey of the Young Embedded Cluster NGC 2024
We present the results of the first sensitive L-band (3.4 μm) imaging study of the nearby young embedded cluster NGC 2024. Two separate surveys of the cluster were acquired in order to obtain a
Evidence for Circumstellar Disks around Young Brown Dwarfs in the Trapezium Cluster
We report the results of deep infrared observations of brown dwarf candidates in the Trapezium Cluster in Orion. Analysis of the JHK color-color diagram indicates that a large fraction (~65% ± 15%)
Accelerating Star Formation in Clusters and Associations
We use our own, recently developed pre-main-sequence evolutionary tracks to investigate the star formation histories of relatively nearby associations and clusters. We first employ published
The Pre-Main-Sequence Stars and Initial Mass Function of NGC 2264
UBVRI and Hα CCD photometry has been performed in the southern region of NGC 2264 around the Cone Nebula. A nearly complete list of pre–main-sequence (PMS) members in the cluster has been made from
Substantial reservoirs of molecular hydrogen in the debris disks around young stars
Observations of the lowest rotational transitions of molecular hydrogen that reveal large quantities of gas in the debris disks around the stars β Pictoris, 49 Ceti and HD135344 are reported.
A sensitive 10-micron search for emission arising from circumstellar dust associated with solar-type pre-main-sequence stars
The presence and evolutionary timescales of circumstellar disks surrounding solar-type premain-sequence stars are studied using excess IR radiation above photospheric levels. The analysis is based on
2MASS Observations of the Perseus, Orion A, Orion B, and Monoceros R2 Molecular Clouds
We use the 2MASS Second Incremental Release Point Source Catalog to investigate the spatial distribution of young stars in the Perseus, Orion A, Orion B, and MonR2 molecular clouds. After subtracting
