# Discrete Groups and Riemann Surfaces

@inproceedings{Weaver2013DiscreteGA, title={Discrete Groups and Riemann Surfaces}, author={Anthony Weaver}, year={2013} }

These notes summarize four expository lectures delivered at the Advanced School of the ICTS Program Groups, Geometry and Dynamics, December, 2012, Almora, India. The target audience was a group of students at or near the end of a traditional undergraduate math major. My purpose was to expose the types of discrete groups that arise in connection with Riemann surfaces. I have not hesitated to shorten or omit proofs, especially in the later sections, where I thought completeness would interrupt…

Counting topological types of finite group actions

- Mathematics
- 2017

We study fully ramified actions of the elementary abelian $p$ group of rank $k\geq 1$, on surfaces of genus $g$, obtaining explicit counts of topological equivalence classes via a combinatorial…
