The directional hearing sensitivity of an Atlantic bottlenose dolphin was measured behaviorally in the vertical and horizontal planes for puretone frequencies of 30, 60, and 120 Khz. The vertical beam‐pattern results were reported previously [Moore and Au, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. Suppl. 1 70, S85 (1981)]. Measurements in the horizontal plane were performed with the dolphin stationing in a bite plate and with two noise sources located ± 20° on either side of the bite plate, 3.5 m away.
