Connectivity transitions in static networks are well described by percolation theory, yet the corresponding description is not developed for temporal networks. We map the connectivity problem of temporal networks to directed percolation and show that the reachability phase transition in random temporal network models, as induced by any limited-waiting-time process, appears with the mean-field exponents of directed percolation. Furthermore, we measure the central thermodynamic quantities adapted… Expand

Mapping temporal-network percolation to weighted, static event graphs
The dynamics of diffusion-like processes on temporal networks are influenced by correlations in the times of contacts. This influence is particularly strong for processes where the spreading agentExpand
Temporal percolation in activity-driven networks.
It is shown in particular how the susceptible-infected-removed model on an activity-driven network can be mapped to the percolation problem up to a time given by the spreading rate of the epidemic process. Expand
Dynamic networks and directed percolation
We introduce a model for dynamic networks, where the links or the strengths of the links change over time. We solve the model by mapping dynamic networks to the problem of directed percolation, whereExpand
Weighted temporal event graphs
This Chapter discusses a recently-introduced, more general framework that maps temporal-network structure into static graphs while retaining information on time-respecting paths and the time differences between their consequent events. Expand

Differences between static and temporal properties are further highlighted in studies of the temporal closeness centrality, and correlations and heterogeneities in the underlying event sequences affect temporal path lengths, increasing temporal distances in communication networks and decreasing them in the air transport network. The TEG is described, a static, lossless, and unique representation of a temporal network, the temporal event graph (TEG), which describes the temporal network in terms of both the inter-event time and two-event temporal motif distributions. Expand
Connectivity and inference problems for temporal networks
This work defines and studies the class of inference problems, in which it seeks to reconstruct a partially specified time labeling of a network in a manner consistent with an observed history of information flow, and provides results on two types of problems for temporal networks. Expand
Unfolding accessibility provides a macroscopic approach to temporal networks
This work generalizes the concept of accessibility to temporal networks and defines causal fidelity to measure the goodness of their static representation in temporal networks. Expand
Epidemic Percolation Networks, Epidemic Outcomes, and Interventions
The fundamental concepts underlying the definition and use of EPNs are explained, using them to build intuition about the final outcomes of epidemics and how they provide a novel and useful perspective on the design of vaccination strategies. Expand
Efficient limited time reachability estimation in temporal networks
The proposed method gives simultaneous estimates of the in- or out-reachability of limited-waiting-time temporal paths from every possible starting point and time, which opens up the possibility to analyze reachability and dynamics of spreading processes on large temporal networks in completely new ways.
