Direct soliton generation in cw-pumped doubly resonant degenerate optical parametric oscillators

  title={Direct soliton generation in cw-pumped doubly resonant degenerate optical parametric oscillators},
  author={Mingming Nie and Shu-Wei Huang},
We analytically and numerically study the direct soliton generation in a cw-pumped doubly resonant degenerate optical parametric oscillator via pump frequency scanning. By means of bifurcation and linear stability analysis of the homogeneous solutions, we discriminate distinctive soliton forming mechanisms and corresponding dynamics, depending on pump and signal group velocity dispersions (GVDs). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study regarding the dynamics of pure quadratic…

Quadratic soliton mode-locked degenerate optical parametric oscillator.

Frequency comb with terahertz bandwidth and femtosecond pulse duration are attainable in an example periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide resonator, making it a competitive ultrashort pulse and broadband comb source architecture at the mid-infrared.

Localized structures in dispersive and doubly resonant optical parametric oscillators.

It is shown that states formed through the locking of domain walls between the zero and a nonzero continuous-wave solution undergo collapsed snaking and are characterized in the parameter space.

Quadratic Solitons in Singly Resonant Degenerate Optical Parametric Oscillators

By identifying the similarities between the coupled-wave equations and the parametrically driven nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation, we show the existence conditions of quadratic solitons in

Localized structures formed through domain wall locking in cavity-enhanced second-harmonic generation.

This work analyzes the formation of localized structures in cavity-enhanced second-harmonic generation and shows that these states form due to the locking of domain walls connecting two stable homogeneous states of the system, and undergo collapsed snaking.

Soliton bursts and deterministic dissipative Kerr soliton generation in auxiliary-assisted microcavities

Stable Kerr soliton singlet formation and soliton bursts are demonstrated and an application of automatic soliton comb recovery and long-term stabilization against strong external perturbations is demonstrated, holding potential to expand the parameter space for ultrafast nonlinear dynamics and precision optical frequency comb stabilization.
