Fifteen serum cryoprecipitates from 28 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) contained DNA demonstrable by counterimmunoelectrophoresis after exhaustive digestion of cryoimmunoglobulin with pronase. The majority of these cryoprecipitates also exhibited increased DNA binding activity in a modified Farr assay.
