In this study, we have used affinity chromatography to purify the lectins from a chlorolichen, Evernia prunastri (L.) Ach., and a cyanolichen, Peltigera canina (Ach.) Schard. These species secrete lectins that display arginase activity in addition to their role as recognition proteins.
