Meaning of the Terms Diphtheria, Croup, and Faux Croup

Diphtheria revisited
TLDR
Worryingly, van Geldermalsen and Wenning have suggested that in certain parts of the world a moderate uptake of immunization may decrease the carriage of toxigenic strains of C diphtheriae, and hence the opportunity to acquire natural immunity decreases, leaving at risk those groups of the population not accessible for immunization programmes.
