While Digital Divide in the JGITMs previous editorial preface (Davison, et a]., 1999) refers to the overall gap between developed and developing countries in information and communication technology utilisation, this preface uses the term more narrowly to refer to great disparities in opportunity to access the Internet and the information and educational/business opportunities tied to this access.
