Digital amnesia is a concept that existed since 2007 and has addressed this phenomenon as a constant threat to human memory arising out of excessive digital gadget use. The following review paper looks at the construct of digital amnesia from its inception to its current conceptualization. The paper also reviews the phenomenon named the Google effect and the seminal findings from studies of Kapersky Laboratory conducted in India and abroad.
